With this blog I would like to raise discussion on hot and current topics about  Suriname and the rest of the Caribbean in particular, and the rest of the world in general. I do this because it is my belief that societies and the people that live in it are for a large part able to design their own lives, despite outside influences like capitalism, neo-liberalism, third, second and first world orders, women and child discrimination and other kinds of human rights abuse and inequality.

General professional goal

My professional goal is to help democratize society in general and media practice in particular by reporting, describing and analyzing ongoing and past trends. Through democratization of society, the development of peoples all over the world can be achieved.

I am willing do this, have done this en are doing this on a multidisciplinary basis: by writing, broadcasting through radio and television, the internet and talking about it through my profession as a journalist, through my experience as a citizen of this world and through my knowlegde as an academic scholar.
